Meet Fletcher

I wrote my first stories with crayons and index cards. More than 20 years later, I'm working on my debut urban fantasy worldview novel, tentatively titled Spellcrafter.

Stories offer an escape to a different - and sometimes better - place for a little while. This is true for both readers and writers. I get to live in the worlds that I create, and I hope you'll want to as well.

My goal is to transform a traditionally dark genre into one that's filled with hope, heart, and unforgettable characters.

  • What are you writing right now?
    After testing several ideas I've settled on an urban fantasy setting for my debut novel, tentatively titled Spellcrafter. The story centers on a young man named Dakota who discovers the existence of magic and is sworn into a coven dedicated to protecting its secrets. As the world he knew changes around him, Dakota must figure out who he is, who he wants to be, where he belongs, and what could possibly be more important than keeping his own promises. A colorful cast of characters joins Dakota on his journey, including his principled twin sister, an assortment of odd swordsmen, and an alluring witch who promises forbidden knowledge... if he's willing to break a few rules. I've also started a high fantasy collaboration with my friend, Riley Wren, titled Opal Scales, Black Feathers. Stay tuned for updates on that project as well!
  • What's the ETA on the book?
    The second major draft of Spellcrafter is done, and is being sent to beta readers in waves. Once feedback starts rolling in, I'll start the process of editing and finding an avenue for publication. For monthly updates, join my email list above!
